music islands has been showing fdp love for a long time. now we are getting to play their annual roppongi event. this will be the first fdp performance with a live band since we landed in japan. planning to reveal several tracks off the upcoming album. also performing, Omodaka from far east recording. these dudes were part of the japan nite US tour in 2009. should be a lot of fun. check back for more updates.

thank you to all of our listeners in the united states and europe who sent us emails, but there is no need to worry. fizzy dino pop is safe and sound despite the massive damage caused by the earthquake in the northern part of the country. we really appreciate your concern and your ongoing support in this music project, i truly believe we have the best fans. hopefully we have seen the worst of this disaster.

last month we had our first performance in tokyo. super special thanks to audio galaxy for having us perform. out of control party as expected. still putting together the pieces of the live band for japan. really wish MARCUS WEBB was here to throw down with us.

thank you to everyone who voted for fizzy dino pop at this years dallas observer music awards, we really appreciate your support and we will miss you in japan next year! we would also like to extend a special thanks to pete freedman from the dallas observer.

we are happy to announce that yuria's first show back from japan will be held at the granada theatre in dallas on september 16th. We will be performing with one our favorite bands, Miami Horror. if you haven't heard them you are really in for a treat, this show will be part of their first north american tour. check back later for more information!

tomorrow night - house show at Majestic Dwelling of DOOM.
should be a lot of fun, the last time i played there was with fizzy dino pop, sore losers, ocelot, t0mmyl33j0n3z and BIG J. i heard an estimate of about 400 people showed up, the cops busted the party after sore losers finished their last song. super disappointing the other acts and myself couldn't perform. it was still awesome that pretty much everyone in denton showed up though. i am sure it wont be that crazy tomorrow night, but come check it out anyways.

there are not going to be anymore fizzy dino pop shows until yuria returns. its really lame to perform without her. when she gets back late next month we are going to record some of the new songs i have been working on for the album and put together a string of shows, look out for that late september.

can't believe FDP is moving to tokyo in 6 months. i thought we were going to be in the kansai area but as fate would have it - we will most likely end up in the kanto region - i hope we can build up our networks a little more before winter. anyways - its one more steep closer to doing what we want to do with our music.

integrating analog synthesizers into the 2nd half of the fizzy dino pop full length. i' am hoping adding additional analog elements will give the album some warmth. having the opportunity to get my hands on sextape's Korg DW8000 and the Juno 106 has given me a different perspective on production in general. perhaps it will turn out to be the deus ex machina i have been waiting on.

Farewell Sore Losers

A little more than a year ago, I signed a contract with WCK management in Austin, Texas - the first thing WCK put together for me was a gig downtown at Aces Lounge. We had a little rehearsal at a friends place - this was the first time I met Vince Brown. I remember he told me that he was a fan of fizzy dino pop and that he was an MC in a duo called Sore Losers. I remember when he first showed me his music, I didn't know what to say - the fact was I really impressed. Their sound was so real to me - by real I mean it was clear they loved what they were doing. At that moment I knew that fizzy dino pop and sore losers would do great things together.
Over the last year - I have been playing nearly all fizzy dino pop shows alongside the sore losers. We threw some insane parties and pissed off a lot of cops but most importantly we made music that we are proud of together.
Anyways, my good friends, Vince and Blue, are on their way to LA to pursue their dreams. I' am sad we won't be playing so many shows together these days - but I' am happy they are doing what the love.

two new projects

i have been working really hard on getting these new releases out for my two new projects, sextape and hai hello. finally, we are ready to release our first singles. it has been a really wonderful experience to come together with other artists and combine our ideas and create something from scratch. both projects, especially sextape, have a completely different feel than fizzy dino pop, this has really forced me to experiment with different sounds and production techniques.

yuria and i are still on opposite ends of the planet for two more months, when we are reunited in august, fizzy dino pop will recommence. until then, check out sextape and hai hello -

a few months ago, a good friend of mine showed me a few song ideas she was working on. immediately, i fell in love with her compositions and felt compelled to work on music with her.
after countless hours of experimentation and recruiting creative designer, marcus webb, we were able to create a sound that captured the feel of her compositions. thus, sextape was born.
check out our first single and look out for the e.p that drops this fall.

we have received a few hundred emails from listeners regarding the album and tour delay. i suppose its time to apologize officially - the truth is, it has been extremely difficult to complete the fizzy dino pop album because yuria and i are literally on opposite sides of the world at the moment. since the hello party! e.p, she has become a critical part of the creative process for fizzy dino pop. the fact is we cant leave for tour until we complete the full length, so as of now - everything is on a hiatus. i appreciate all of our listener's patience and we both would like to thank you for all of your support! we will keep everyone updated as things progress.

i have been working on two new projects in addition to fizzy dino pop, i am going to hold off on all the details for now but both projects are planning to drop the first official singles early next week. check back for those as well as all the information.
